Carve the Flesh; Barricade

May 27, 2011 by

Shallow is the water that caresses the curves of my naked flesh

Cold are the waves of confusion that leap with control

To fill my mouth-my lungs

Don’t speak

Shhhhhhhh

Be silent, hold time at bay

Barricade the doors

Bar the windows

Black

Solitude

A breath

And I feel nothing here

In this moment eternal

The ghosts that follow me everywhere

Touching me

Pulling me

Calling to me

‘Let go

That is all that it takes

Come away with me’

And I have always felt pulled

Between this plane and the next

Sometimes a zombie

Walking dazed through this existence

This life

Searching for the writing on the walls that no one else sees

Some call me crazy

Because I see

The Karma

The Savior

The 3rd eye

Death is a lie

All of this knowing

And sadness

Sad that so few can see

There are no surprises for me here, in this life

There is nothing new

Just the chill of the blade

Against supple flesh

Carve the apple

Make it pretty

Twisted little circles

To a world that closes its eyes

Oh so happily

Afraid to dream of anything

Quick to toss it all in a box

A safe little box with a bow

But the box is too small

Not all of us fit inside

And I dive down deep

Into the midnight salty sea

Moon on my feet

And if the world follows me

Most will drown

Drown in the lies they tell themselves

Frozen in the chill Of illumination

Throw the apple into the moon’s soft reflection

Let the salt take the sweet

And watch it float

Following the tides

Until it, too, becomes the sea

As we all will…

One day
